“Wish we could have stayed longer” – 5 stars
My husband and I recently returned from a 16 day trip to Ireland. My only regret is that we couldn’t stay at this B&B longer than one night. It was just wonderful! Mary was a gem. The welcoming tea and cookies on a rainy day after our long journey to Salthill was the perfect touch. Actually, this was our next-to-final night in Ireland and it was the icing on the cake.
The B&B is beautiful, comfortable and inviting. As many had said, don’t miss the french toast, but go easy because the breakfast is bountiful!
Don’t look any further if you plan on staying in Salthill.
“Great Value, Friendly People” – 5 stars

We started our trip to Ireland at Marless House. Mary and Tom were extremely friendly and helpful. We came to Galway to do some geneological research and Mary was very informative about resources in the area. The house was spotless, the room was great and Mary was there it seems 24/7 to offer tea or conversation. I can’t say enough about how much both Mary and Tom made you feel that it was “your” house.
Marless house also gets my award for best breakfast in Ireland. During our trip we stayed at 5 different B&B’s and Marless house breakfast was the best by far. Try the French Toast, it was great.
The location is great, about 1 block up from the water. Within walking distance of all the beach resort attractions in the area. If you don’t mind a little hustle and bustle on the weekend (when we stayed) you’ll love this place.
To summarize, Marless House set the standard for all the other B&B’s we stayed at when we visited Ireland. If we make another trip we’ll definitely be re-booking.
“Highlight of our whole trip to Ireland” – 5 stars

As I travelled around the country of Ireland with my fiancé and his family, we all reminisced about Marless House and our lovely host, Mary, who made a point of enhancing our trip without stretching her help beyond courtesy.
The house itself is adorable with a touch of traditional style that feels the way a bed and breakfast should. Our room was clean, tastefully decorated and very sunny (we could even see the ocean out of our window and didn’t get charged extra for “ocean view” like other accommodations).
The location is right on the Salthill promenade which makes for a delightful morning walk (or a polar bear dip in the ocean off of the diving platform if you so choose) and a departure point for day trips out to Connemara and down to the Burren/Cliffs of Moher.
Because there weren’t enough rooms for our whole party, my fiance’s grandparents stayed at a nearby B&B which was nice, but they repeatedly expressed how much more they liked Marless House for it’s more elegant common areas and for Mary’s genuine hospitality.
She’s the only host out of the 6 B&B’s we stayed at that I felt compelled to hug at the end or our short stay. We will surely return and I would recommend this accommodation to anyone who can appreciate a well-maintained house and a gracious host.
“Great food and adorable rooms! Wished I could have stayed longer!” – 5 stars

I loved the Marless house! The food was superb and had incredible variety and tasted delcious! The rooms were colored adorable colors which made them cozy and roomy. Mary is warm and friendly! Wish I could go back!
“No trip to Ireland is complete without a visit to Marless House” – 5 stars

I first started staying with Mary and Tom Geraghty in 1993. After backpacking for three weeks around Ireland, we found Marless House and stayed there for the remaining nine days of our trip. I have returned to stay with them on all but one of my 8 trips since. Mary and Tom have become like old friends and each time I bring someone new with me – be it a family member or a friend – the newbie finally understands why I rave about Marless House. It truly feels like a home away from home. It was then and forever shall be the best of the best, Amen.
“Fabulous Hospitality” – 5 stars
This is a wonderful place to stay in Salthill and would highly recommend it. I stayed here with my partner and my grandparents for a weekend and we loved it. The rooms are beautiful, the hostess Mary is a star, (who thoughtfully gave my grandparents a ground floor room) and the breakfast you won’t find anywhere else like it with so much choice on the menu. A lovely, lovely place. Thank you )
“Marvellous Marless” – 5 stars
LandcruiserBJ, West Yorkshire.
Our two night stay (four of us in two rooms) over the wet and windy weekend of 22nd August at Marless House was very pleasant; our good sized rooms were spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable, there is free WiFi, a good range of TV stations to choose from and ample off road parking.
Hosts Mary and Tom were very outgoing and helpful, the freshly cooked breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Marless House is a short walk to the eating and drinking establishments of Salthill and convenient for trips to central Galway and the Connemara area. The friendly welcome and cup of tea and biscuits we received on arrival really got our stay off to a positive start We would not hesitate to return to Marless House
“My favourite spot in Ireland” – 5 stars
This will have been my 4th time staying with Mary at her lovely Marless House B&B. This trip I decided to stay with Mary our entire stay, and we also brought our friend Darla along for her first Ireland experience.
I have had the privledge to stay with Mary several times. And when I walk through the door with my bags, and see her smiling face, it’s like family.
Her french toast is STILL the best. But I do feel like it’s a priveldge to sit down with her and chat about our families, the beautiful irish countryside, or even Xfactor.
If you are ever in Galway this is the place to stay. You will not be disappointed.
